Creation Haiku
Here at the Dispersion we mostly do blogs, but now we are going to shake it up with a blog of Haiku about creation as recorded in Genesis 1-2. Enjoy!
God said there be light
And there was, much light, bright light
Day and Night began
There is a domain
Which is not near to us, for sin.
God’s land is not ours
With one phrase God made
The Atlantic, Pacific,
North America
With a song God drew
Plants from the ground, vines from
The walls, it was good.
God set the moon’s clock
God set the star’s clock, God set
The time for the sun
Fish called to swim
Birds called to fly, God calls
To nothing: Live now
God over beasts, God over
Shrews, God over elephants
God over me and you.
God made man from dust
Woman from man, We both come
From God, to observe
The Lord rests in peace
Why don’t we? Are we busy?
God made the world, no?
